Sidmouth Lifeboat launched to join coastguard and police in search for a missing person yesterday evening (Wednesday).
The crew was tasked at 7pm to perform a close inshore search from Big Pocket Rock to the Salcombe Mouth area, providing an extensive search of the sea and shoreline while the coastguard and police searched on land.
The lifeboat team used flares, searchlights and night sights to search the area.
The person in question was later found and the lifeboat and was stood down shortly after 9pm.
