A spokesperson for Sidmouth Police said: "During the last few weeks, officers have dealt with a number of motorists for defective or inappropriate use of lights.
We have also spoken to a number of cyclists for not having lights." Officers say they are taking a zero tolerance approach and will deal with all offenders.
