Hundreds of pounds, which will be used to help transport urgently needed blood, breast milk, organs and equipment, have been raised by a Sidmouth club.

Sidmouth Lions Club has now presented a cheque for £600 to Devon Freewheelers - a registered charity, which offers an out-of-hours and free-of-charge courier service to the NHS, mainly on motorbikes.

Freewheeler volunteer rider Charlie Hutching met the lions at the Anchor Inn, Sidmouth, and received the money from Lion President Chris Rignall and his fellow lions.

During the Lions' business meeting, president Chris was also delighted to present Lion Alan Shoesmith with a Lions award for club membership growth.
