WORTHY causes will benefit from £1,065 raised through Easter draws staged by Sidmouth Lions Club.

The grand total was announced this week after draws took place at a quintet of venues.

Club members have thanked proprietors at five businesses for their help and support in selling draw tickets.

The Anchor Inn and Dukes in Sidmouth, Sidford’s the Blue Ball, the Bowd Inn and the Golden Lion in Tipton St John were all praised – as were the generous general public.

Lions purchased some scrumptious chocolate egg and bunny prizes from Emily’s Chocolates in Sidmouth.

Kind-hearted six-year-old Holly Selway, whose grandmother Karen Farnworth won a big easter bunny at Dukes, decided the prize should go to charity.

Holly, who benefits from the The Donkey Sancturary’s assisted therapy centre once a month, donated the treat to a silent auction held by the charity on Sunday.
