John Gill, 42, pleads not guilty to two charges of possession of class A drugs with intent to supply

A man from Sidmouth has denied dealing drugs in Exeter after he was allegedly caught with 50 wraps during a police raid in the city.

John Gill, aged 42, of Howarth Close, Sidmouth, pleaded not guilty to two charges of possession of class A drugs with intent to supply when he appeared at Exeter Crown Court by video link from prison.

He admitted personal possession of the 20 wraps of heroin and 30 wraps of crack cocaine, which were found by police during a raid on a flat in Fore Street, Exeter, on April 18.

Judge Geoffrey Mercer, QC, adjourned the case for jury trial and set a timetable for the exchange of prosecution and defence papers. He remanded Gill in custody.
