RESIDENTS in the Sidmouth area who own expensive garden machinery have been urged to take down vital details in case thieves strike.
Criminals targeted a wooden shed at a property in Cotmaton Road and made off with a ride-on lawnmower worth 2,500.
Police hope the fact its owner noted identification and engine numbers might lead to it being returned if thieves try to offload the mower locally. A constabulary spokesperson asked Sidmouth residents who might have purchased or seen the green John Deere X-300 mower to look out for it’s identification number, MOX300E040661, or engine number FH49IFA42035, and contact police. The theft happened between September 6 and 9. Contact police with information on 08452 777444, crime reference: KS/10/495.
