Dr Bob Symes, curator of Sidmouth Museum, is planning a Darwin exhibition of his own as part of its celebration of Natural Beauty this season.
Treasures from the Earth archaeology exhibition, which opened in Torquay last month, features iconic finds from the great collections of Devon.
After visiting Devon towns, including Tiverton, it will tour museums in Somerset and Cornwall.
