Museum receives £200 through Waitrose’s green token scheme
THE doors to Sidmouth Museum re-open tomorrow, Saturday, after its winter break to refresh exhibitions.
It will be a hectic and interesting season for the museum, which is celebrating national and local anniversaries in 2012.
The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee exhibitions will have costumes of the early decades, plus other memorabilia.
“We shall be flying the flag for Sidmouth in the Cultural Olympiad with a display showing the development of dinghy sailing and early regattas,” said Hilary Briers for the museum.
Admission is free and special activity days will take place throughout the season.
Recently, museum curator, Dr Bob Symes, OBE, received a cheque for £200 from Waitrose through its green token scheme.
Hilary said: “We were very pleased to have had the opportunity to take part, and are very grateful to the public who supported us, and to Waitrose.” help for local organisations.”
