THOUSANDS of people are expected to line Sidmouth’s streets when Olympic hero Mary King rides through the town during an unprecedented civic occasion this evening.
The parade will leave from Radway at 6.30pm, head down High Street, Fore Street, across the Esplanade and up Station Road to the Three Cornered Plot and then into Kennaway House.
Civic leaders will welcome and congratulate Mary on the steps of the Coburg Road venue – and hope a huge crowd of well-wishers will follow suit.
Sidmouth Town Council has organised the parade to honour Mary and her horse Imperial Cavalier.
Mary, 51, described the event as “extraordinary” and “lovely”.
