Sidmouth pays tribute to the RAF

A TRIBUTE for the ninetieth anniversary of the RAF will he held in Sidmouth on Saturday.

The celebration, organised by the South West Airfields Heritage Trust, includes an exhibition of model planes, RAF artefacts, memorabilia and 15 RAF uniforms worn by servicemen through different periods.

Steve Parsons, a committee member of the trust, said: "Anyone with an interest in planes and RAF history will enjoy the exhibition.

"We have got a lot of ex-servicemen coming who will recall some of their memories of their time in the RAF.

"It promises to be something different which can rarely be found outside of London."

The exhibition takes place at St John Hall in Blackmore Drive on Saturday, September 13 from 10am to 1pm. Admission is by donation.
