SIDMOUTH’S Poppy Appeal has proved a smash-hit success and has this week raised more than 7,000.
Sue Pink (pictured with husband Chris), the town’s appeal co-ordinator, said: “It’s been going great. I can’t thank all my wonderful collectors and counters in Sidmouth enough. They have done me proud. We’re having a very good appeal this year.”
She said a ‘half-time total’ of 7,209 had been counted on Tuesday.
Sidmouth will mark Remembrance Day with Royal British Legion events today and over the weekend.
