FOOTBALLS galore were made by pupils at St John's School, Sidmouth, when they celebrated World Maths Day.
Maths teacher Merrill Millington, with the help of former maths teacher Penny Roberts and Angela Gould, a researcher from The University of London, organised a variety of activities for pupils from Years One to Eight.
Children used paper folding to make a variety of mathematical shapes, with older pupils making wonderful large footballs, which are now on display at the private prep school.
Other activities included designing symmetrical flags, building models, describing a 3D model from memory as well as solving numerical puzzles.
The day ended with an exhilarating relay race for all. Winning junior team were Year Two, and the winning senior team came from Year Six.
