Sidmouth recycling store turns back clock
Vintage Green shop offers chance to recycle Sidmouth’s vintage goodies
TURNING back the clock in Sidmouth, Shelley Newton has transformed a small shop in the town centre into a vintage recycling shop.
She has called it Vintage Green, and is offering collectables, shabby-chic furniture, linen and china on a sale-or-return basis.
“We source everything locally so our carbon footprint is low,” said Shelley, who lives in Peaslands Road.
The Old Fore Street shop, formerly Hi Ho Silver, opened on May 6.
Shelley is particularly interested in items from 1910 to the 1950s and those wanting to sell items can pop into the shop or contact Shelley at newtonshelley@hotmail.com with an image of the items for sale.
“Someone is sewing vintage fabric into cushions,” she said. “I love everything vintage, I scour antique shops and charity shops.”
