SIDMOUTH residents have been thanked for helping Devon recycling centres increase their recycling rate to 73 per cent in the last year.
As National Recycle Week comes to an end today, Devon County Council announced the figure- up three per cent up on the previous year.
In total, 77,000 tonnes of material, around 15,500 large lorry loads, was recycled through Devon's 28 recycling centres including, Woods Farm in Tipton St John, and rural skip.
More than 105,000 televisions and 34,000 fridges were brought in by householders.
