Residents sat down to enjoy a festive feast and fun at Sidmouth’s annual Christmas Day lunch.
Some 80 people enjoyed a festive feast and plenty of fun at Sidmouth’s annual Christmas Day community lunch.
The event, which was started to bring together those who would otherwise be alone on December 25, had a new organiser this year in Emma Donovan.
Emma was helped by her family and an army of volunteers to prepare, cook and serve the meal.
More than 50kg of vegetables were prepared, and 10 Christmas puddings, 10 Christmas cakes and 100 mince pies were served up.
Businesses around the Sid Valley also provided food, drink and raffle prizes.
Emma said: “It went well. I’d like to thank everyone that was involved this year, whether they were there on the day or not - approximately 100 people, plus many local businesses, helped us this year and I couldn’t have done it without them.”
Guests were transported to the event and enjoyed a meal with all the trimmings, as well as musical entertainment, before watching the Queen’s Speech.
