The Donkey Sanctuary is offering a guided tour of its woodland and nature centre to look for plant life and signs of spring. Read this and more.

SHOPLIFITNG ALLEGATION: A bottle of cider was allegedly stolen from Sidmouth’s Tesco store on Monday, according to police.

A constabulary spokesperson said a 28-year-old man from Plymouth was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting and bailed until April.

DONKEY TOUR: The Donkey Sanctuary is offering a guided tour of its woodland and nature centre to look for plant life and signs of spring.

Meet in the main car park for a 9.30am, it lasts until 11am, to book contact 01395 573156.

COFFEE: To raise money for Cancer Research there will be a coffee morning on Good Friday, April 6, from 10am to noon in Sidmouth Cricket Club’s pavilion.

As well as refreshment there will be cakes, stalls, a raffle and a tombola. Entry costs £1 with all proceeds going to charity.

TOURISM: The body which promotes tourism in Devon is being close due to a lack of funding. Devon County Council say they don’t have the cash to continue running VisitDevon, which was set up to encourage people to holiday in the county. The council admit this comes at a bad time, but say a voluntary partnership will take its place to continue promoting tourism.
