A Sidmouth mum has started a 190-mile challenge to support brain tumour research after watching the effects the disease has had on her own teenager daughter.

Angela Reid signed up to take on the three-mile ‘big little walk’ in aid of Brain Tumour Research but has decided to go 31 times better by walking that distance every day for two months until the end of June.

The devoted mum has seen the effects of brain tumours first hand as her daughter Charlotte, 18, was diagnosed with a rare craniopharyngioma in July 2015.

Her brain tumour is benign, but has affected her growth and short-term memory.

Angela said: “By signing up to take part, I know that, even when I’m feeling wearing, emotional, or just ready to just chill on the sofa, I have a task in hand to get this walk done – even if it’s pacing the corridors of the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital where we often find ourselves.”
