This year, it has led the way nationally, with the largest number of members on the graduate lifeguard programme of any club. It also celebrated some stellar successes at local and national competitions and handed out awards to different age groups. Chairman Dave Manley said: “It was another fantastic season, which has seen the club expand, develop the lifeguard skills of its members and volunteers and continue to compete at the highest level in the sport of surf lifesaving. I have been particularly impressed by the commitment and achievements of our young lifesavers, who have made their first steps to being professional lifeguards. A big thank-you to our volunteers, and to Sidmouth Cricket Club for hosting us.”
