NEARLY �430 was raised for the Samaritans at the annual Ploughman's Lunch held in Sidmouth's Methodist Hall recently.
Denis Jonas, a Sidmouth Friends of Samaritans member, said: "Our committee has been very pleased to receive so many positive comments and would like to convey their gratitude to everyone who supported this event.
"Special thanks is due to our chef, Patrick Walker and his kitchen team, David and Mavis Baldock with their street organ and to all our other willing helpers.
