RESIDENTS who fear their properties will flood in wild wet weather have been reminded a sand bag scheme is on offer the help protect homes.
Sidmouth Town Council has teamed up with Sidmouth Garden Centre to hand out the defences.
The business is willing to deliver them to the elderly and vulnerable.
More than 300 bags were distributed when the initiative was launched after floods in July.
Anyone who wants any sand bags is advised to visit the town council offices at Woolcombe House where they will be issued with a voucher and empty bags.
Sand will then be dished out at the garden centre.
Town council chairman, Stuart Hughes, said: “This sort of wet weather is going to continue so we’re still making sand bags available to residents.”
Councillor Hughes has paid for the sand through his county council locality budget.
