The leaders of St John’s School are ‘absolutely delighted’ it is now ranked 15th nationally in its category in a prestigious guide.

The percentage of A and A* grades at GCSE saw it climb the league tables in the Sunday Times Schools Guide, which identifies the 2,000 highest achieving schools in the UK.

Caroline Ward, the head of senior academics, said: “We were absolutely delighted – this is another endorsement of the fantastic work that is going on at St John’s and we are always delighted to see our school receive recognition of that in the public domain and on a national level.

“That said, results are only part of what we do here at St John’s.

“As a school with an extensive network of sister schools around the world and with our fantastic facilities which are receiving further significant investment at the moment, the opportunities for local pupils at St John’s go far beyond the classroom.”
