Charity nominated to join Queen’s birthday celebrations at Windsor Castle

Sidmouth shoppers have helped give Devon Freewheelers an ‘amazing’ £430 boost - and a special invite to Windsor Castle.

The charity was chosen to take part in the Waitrose Community Matters campaign and will now join in celebrations for the Queen’s 90th birthday on Friday, May 13.

Julie Marish, of Waitrose in Sidmouth, presented a cheque to representatives of Devon Freewheelers after members of the community voted to support the cause.

She went on to nominate Devon Freewheelers to attend a prestigious Windsor Castle do as one of the firm’s charities - and it was chosen.
