SHOPS in Sidmouth will be turning pink later this month to support Breast Cancer Awareness month.
Staff will be taking the lead from Lenny Titherington, manager at Cancer Research UK shop in Fore Street, who has asked them to wear pink, display pink balloons and have pink collection buckets on show, on Friday, October 24.
Special pink T-shirts, collection boxes with badges and key rings and balloons can be ordered from Lenny or at Beauty Within or Paper Moon.
Volunteers at the charity shop will sell home-made cakes on the day and pink ribbons will be on sale, along with a special edition of bath time Duckie Ducks designed by Twiggy, Sharon Osbourne and Barbara Hulanicki.
Lenny said: "Raising awareness and funds for breast cancer is a joint effort from Cancer Research UK, volunteers, supporters and customers alike.
"That is why we like our events to be occasions the whole community can enjoy and participate in."
*If any Sidmouth business or organisation is going pink on October 24 please contact the Herald (01395) 515191 to let us know.
