Festive fever is in the air as shops brought the magic of Christmas to Sidmouth in the hope to bag Best Window in this year’s annual competition.
More than 30 businesses were judged on Wednesday for the contest, sponsored by Sidmouth Chamber of Commerce.
The judging panel was made up of members of the chamber, a Herald reporter and Sidmouth College students Kezia Egargo and Charlotte Hadfield. Triumphing this year was Fields as the best store, Flutterby’s in the one window, 4homes in the two windows and Ebenezer Christmas Shop in the three window categories respectively. Potbury’s was highly commended.
Mel Gater, one of the judges, praised the businesses for creating a ‘very Christmas feel’ and thanked Blini’s for hosting the judges deliberation - and the town council for making the town more festive ahead of late night shopping tonight (Friday) from 5pm to 8pm.
