As the first turf was cut at the site last week, Stowford Rise Community Centre Association (SRCCA) members were also celebrating a hefty haul that will help equip the facility.
Hundreds of tickets were sold for the grand draw, which saw its winner land a television and runners up net 75 and 50 respectively. There were 20 prizes in total.
“It was quite good for a first attempt,” said SRCCA chief fundraiser Jan Jones, “thank you to everybody who entered and supported us.”
