OUT came the sun and the shorts on Saturday, in time for Sid Valley Rotary Club's annual fete at Blackmore Gardens.
Rotarian John Rush said: "The day was a wonderful success, with more than 2,000 being raised for local charities.
"We would like to thank the traders, the visitors and the people of Sidmouth who supported the event and we will be back on July 24, 2010."
Children's Hospice South West will benefit from the proceeds as well as local children's organisations.
Children enjoyed taking part in skittles and visiting Sidmouth Museum's stand, and there was plenty on offer for all ages.
