SIDMOUTH swimmers have been given an early Christmas present in the shape of free pool sessions.

Leisure East Devon (LED) has announced a new calendar of 'Swim 4 Free' dates at Sidmouth Swimming pool, the first of which will be held December 14 for under 18's.
The initiative is designed to encourage Sidmothians to enjoy the health and fitness benefits of swimming.
LED said hundreds of adults and children of all took advantage of the initiative earlier this year, prompting a new run into next year.

Events in 2009 include more children's sessions, dates for seniors, mums, dads and an all-inclusive event.
Members of the public are invited to turn up to the pool on the day, providing it is timetabled for either public swimming or fun swims.
