SIDMOUTH Swimming Pool will benefit from a new agreement committed to improving swimming teaching.

Leisure East Devon, the charitable trust the manages Sidmouth Swimming Pool, has recently signed the new five-year agreement to deliver the National Plan for Teaching Swimming, as well as the Kellogg's ASA Awards.

Sidmouth Swimming Pool has approximately 500 children in its swim school as well as 15 adults and the pool also runs sessions for children with special educational needs.

Many graduates from the Sidmouth Swim School have gone on to attend the Sid Vale Sharks Swimming Club, which uses the pool as a base for club training sessions.

Marcus Allen, manager of Sidmouth Swimming Pool, said: "We're pleased that we'll be able to offer this national swimming plan in Sidmouth."

"By signing a five year agreement LED has recognized the benefits that being linked with the ASA will have on our swimming lessons long term. The children we have on board in Sidmouth are enjoying earning the awards given by the Kellogg's scheme and we're committed to continuing to help people of all ages and abilities to enjoy the pool."
