Sidmouth Town Band is staging a special concert to celebrate its 155-year history and some personal memories of the players.

The programme has been chosen to reflect memorable moments of recent years, with individuals choosing their favourite pieces and explaining what being part of the band has meant for them. For example, there will be an extract from the piece the band played last year at the National Finals - achieving their best ever position of the fifth-best second section band in Great Britain.

In another milestone, after fundraising for 18 months, the band hopes to have its new HQ by the end of the year. The band were disappointed to have to cancel their final concert of the summer season due to bad weather, so this is an opportunity to say thank you to their many supporters.

The concert will be at the Manor Pavilion Theatre from 7.30pm on October 14. Tickets (£5) are available from the box office.
