Sidmouth Town Junior Vikings U10s football team have received 750 to help them buy kit to keep them warm and dry in bad weather.
The donation was made by the Devonshire Freemasons as part of the 20,000 they gave out to 26 charities and worthwhile causes, and was presented in a ceremony at Mount Edgcumbe Masonic Hall in Plymouth. Wade Monaghan, manager of the Junior Vikings, said that the money was especially welcome as the club plans to purchase wet weather kit for their existing team this season and to expand from a seven-a-side to a nine-a-side squad.
