CIVIC leaders gifted the chairman of East Devon District Council a reminder of his Sidmouth roots.
Town council chairman Stuart Hughes and colleagues handed Councillor Peter Halse a painting of the coastline when he paid them a visit. Cllr Halse was born in Cliff Road and had relatives who once led Sidmouth Town Council in 1915 and 1935.
Mr Halse observed a full town council meeting last Monday.
