Sidmouth Infants' and Newton Poppleford Primary schools fine-tuned their instruments to join 75 other schools for the county's biggest music festival.Organised by Devon County Council, The Mix was a musical extravaganza involving professional and community musicians and performers from Devon's primary and secondary schools.Around 5,000 young people took part in this year's festival on Wednesday, June 25, at Westpoint Arena, Exeter.On offer was more than 100 musical concerts, workshops and performances from every corner of the globe - from Latin America to the Australian outback - representing music genres from rock and beat box to samba, salsa and classical. The festival showcased some of Devon's brightest young musical maestros, with pupils performing in everything from jazz to junk bands.Didgeridoo workshops, drum, guitar and keyboard clinics were on offer, along with performances from the likes of Kinetika Bloco, String Fever, Damon Minchella, Bass Experience and The Fringe.To celebrate this year's theme, Dance to the Music, the festival ended with The Big Sing and Dance in the main arena.
