A former pub in Newton Poppleford could be lost for good after it was put back on the market with planning consent to convert it into a house.
The Grade II listed building, which use to be The Exeter Inn, was closed in 2010 and sold to property developers.
Since then they have successfully applied for planning permission to turn the property in High Street into a four bedroom dwelling.
But one of the stipulations is the pub’s skittle alley must become a workshop or office as the application was to create a Live Work Unit.
Parts of the building date back to the 14th century, and the estate agents say it still retains many period features, including an inglenook fireplace, beamed ceilings and small paned windows.
It is on the market for £210,000 with Harrison-Lavers & Potbury’s in Sidmouth.
