Photographs of family life in Newton Poppleford in the early 20th century have emerged.
The village history group has shared some of the memories they gathered at their coffee morning.
Peter Pring travelled down from Torquay with his son to recall his time living in the last blacksmith’s shop in the village, which was owned by his father, William.
The 90-year-old also shared a photograph of his father dressed in his army uniform, dating back to 1916.
William Pring survived World War One, but died at the age of 50 as a result of being gassed during the conflict.
Peter also brought photographs of him and his twin brother taking part in the Newton Poppleford Church Choir and in a production of Rumplestiltskin in the village hall.
The Newton Poppleford History Group hopes to create a book about village life, using memories of current and former residents.
The group meets on the first Monday of every month at the village hall.
