Nostalgia: Snow falls in Sidmouth

Will it snow or won’t it? This seems to be the question that pops up every year as we approach the cold months of winter. It’s definitely been a little cooler of late and you may have already switched the heating on, but do you recall the harsh winter of 1979? We’ve retrieved these superb photos from the Herald’s picture archive taken in January 1979 when snow fell and settled across Sidmouth and much of the UK.
