PLUCKY residents in a Sidmouth street rallied together and battled back against the elements to dig a route out of their road.

Regency Gate householder Pat Roberts issued a ‘call to arms’ on Tuesday as 20 neighbours grabbed shovels and took to clearing their snow-logged street.
Hardy residents, pictured, enjoyed a little ‘apres-snow clearing’ in the street, and Brownlands Road, by sharing a glass of mulled wine and mince pies provided by Mo Thurlow.
“We got fed up of not being able to do anything so we decided to battle back against the cold,” said Regency Gate resident Nick Thopmson.
