St David’s Singers to perform in Sidmouth and more news

St Davids Singers will perform at Sidmouth Methodist Church on Saturday, November 12. Read this and more.

RBL COFFEE: The Royal British Legion Sidbury and Sidford branch will stage a Poppy Appeal coffee morning next Saturday, November 5, from 10am to 12noon in Sidford Social Hall. Entry is £1. There will be bric-a-brac, crafts, cakes and a raffle.


SINGING TREAT: St Davids Singers will perform at Sidmouth Methodist Church on Saturday, November 12, at 7.30pm. Tickets (£10) are available from Paragon Books in High Street.


RACE NIGHT: A charity race night, hosted by Sidmouth Rotary Club, will take place at the Blue Ball Inn, Sidford, on Thursday, November 10, at 7.30pm. Tickets (£10) include a lasagne supper and are available from the Blue Ball, or by calling (01395) 542544.


SKITTLES: Sidmouth Twinning Circle’s next event is a Skittles evening with buffet supper at the Blue Ball, Sidford, on Wednesday, January 25, 2012, from 7pm.


MANAGER ROLE: Sidmouth man Mark Waters has been appointed general manager of Switchgear Services in Honiton. The Switchgear name will live on in the town - but as a new business, owned by the Welsh-based HAC Group. The former Switchgear Services Limited, set up 26 years ago by a break-away group from the ex-Ottermill Switchgear business in Ottery St Mary, ceased trading.
