Stargazers interested in learning about the night sky have been invited to the 2017 South West Astronomy Fair in Sidmouth.

There will be guest speakers, a planetarium and historical telescope talks, as well as much more at the event being held next Saturday, August 12, between 9.30am and 5.30pm.

If weather permits, there will be siderostat in operation and solar observing as well as a trade and display marquee to have a look around.

Tickets for the event being held at the Norman Lockyer Observatory, in Salcombe Hill Road, are £8 for adults and £4 for children. Family tickets are £20.
