YOUNGSTERS enjoyed a bit of a stomp when they visited Sidmouth College on Thursday.
Key stage two pupils from St Nicholas Junior, Sidbury and Newton Poppleford Primary schools, had a "fantastic time" building musical instruments from old items and undertook a Stomp workshop, playing rubber boom whackers and dustbins.
The all-day workshop emphasised team work, technology and some musical rhythm work.
Stomp is a unique combination of percussion, movement and visual comedy and its innovative street dance show is still running at theatres in London and New York.
It turns the junk and clutter of urban life into a source of rhythm and its workshop sessions are popular with schools, incorporating music, dance, numeracy, physical education, design and communication skills.
