AROUND 100 people attended the first of the Branscombe Winter Project talks last Thursday night. Mike Parker Pearson, professor of Archaeology in Sheffield and director of the on-going Stonehenge and Durrington Walls excavation, told the audience about his team's discovery a few years ago of the large Neolithic village at Durrington Walls. Barbara Farquharson, organiser of the project, described the night as "terrific". The second talk, given by Sue Dymond on Branscombe's Lost Landscapes, will take place on Monday, January 26.
