SOLAR BID: Sidford Social Hall will become solar-powered, if a planning application is successful. Blueprints to install sixteen solar panels on the roof of the hub have been submitted to East Devon District Council (EDDC). Proposals last week won the support of Sidmouth town councillors. EDDC will decide the fate of blueprints.

CHARITY THANKS: Sidmouth Help Link raised more than 250 with a street collection last Thursday, October 6. The voluntary services charity, based in Mill Street, offers assistance to elderly people and carers in the Sidmouth area. Trustee Joan Shaw said: “Our grateful thanks to all who collected and those who gave so generously. The money raised is used locally to fund our premises in Mill Street, our co-ordinator and her assistants. Do come and visit the centre and see the good work that goes on there.” More information about Sidmouth Help Link can be found at www.sidmouthhelplink.org.uk.
