THE annual Church Meeting was held in S.Francis' Church Hall at 8 p m. on Monday, 19th February. The Vicar (the Revd C K Woollcombe) presided. The report of the General Committtee's work for the year ended 31st December, 1933, was made by the hon secretary and adopted. This report showed that much useful work had been accomplished, and considerable progress made during the past year, especially in regard to the New Church Hall.

ON March 7th there will be a great treat for Sidmouth audiences in the "Radway Revels," the grand Concert Party-Revue in aid of the Boy Scouts Camp Fund. Three of the artistes, Madame Dablia Wilson, Mr Bert Webber and Mr Leonard Crump are well-known stars in the Exeter Operatic Society, and we are exceedingly fortunate in having them all in Sidmouth at the same time.

ORGANISED by Sidmouth Rotary Club, a well attended meeting at the Unitarian Hall approved the formation of a Sidmouth Branch of the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association. A cheque for 10 from the Rotary Christmas Tree collections was recently allocated to the fund and during the meeting a further 8 was collected.

THE last two meetings of Sidmouth and District Photographic Club were particularly interesting by reason of the fact that experienced members took control and spoke of matters on which they were experts. At the first, Mr. E. G. Evezard, A.R.P.S., took as his title "The part is sometimes greater than the whole."

THE future of Sidmouth's bus depot at Woolbrook was again put into question on Wednesday after the announcement that the County Council would be slashing public transport subsidies. Mr. Dick Sparks, who represents 30 East Devon bus drivers, members of the National Union of Railwaymen, said on Thursday that he was greatly concerned about the implications of the cuts.

A PLAN has been prepared showing how 300 new homes- a mixture of council and private properties- could be built in a 29 acre site at Woolbrook, Sidmouth. The land is the larger portion of the 42 acres acquired through a compulsory purchase order nine years ago, and lies between the A3052 and the Woolbrook Rise and Barnhayes estates.
