As part of a series of monthly talks on alternative religious beliefs in Sidmouth there will be a presentation an outline of the world based on Sufi mysticism.
Steve Sullivan has spent 40 years of study and contact with the ideas and practice of the Sufi path of the Middle East and Central Asia, and their followers in the west.
He says he will explain about their origins, and argue: “In a world where the differences between Christianity and Islam are often seen as the source of much hostility and conflict, the Sufi world view offers the opportunity of bringing together faiths in a more universal spiritual path of the heart.”
Mr Sullivan says it requires no previous knowledge of the spiritual movement, and takes place in the Leigh-Browne room at the Unitarian church on May Terrace on Saturday, December 16.
