‘Donkeys in the Park’ is a child-friendly family festival not to be missed this summer.

The event, will take place tomorrow (Saturday) between 11am and 6pm, at the venue which overlooks the sea near Sidmouth.

A cracking line-up of local musicians and bands have promised to provide the soundtrack for the day, ranging from acoustic vibes to sweet summer sounds with some banging beats thrown in for good measure.

Visitors will be able to kick back and relax, retreating to the film tent to enjoy some family favourite movies with a box of popcorn.

The day promises something for everyone with a whole host of activities that include family zumba and yoga, bouncy castles, face painting, crafts, mini professors, storytelling sessions plus of course, the chance to meet some of the adorable resident donkeys.

An enchanting performance of ‘The Magic Garden’ will also be brought to life by Boo to a Goose Theatre Productions. Through the magic of storytelling, the live theatre will tell the tale of a teddy bears’ picnic in a magic garden under the shade of a magic tree, home to woodland creatures and fairies using puppets music and games.

The food arena will also be offering a range of delicious treats and refreshing drinks to keep appetites satisfied.

John Crouch, visitor engagement manager at The Donkey Sanctuary, said: “This one’s for the kids, and the perfect summer party! It’s a day time festival with entertainment in three zones, theatre, music and film, and the ideal time to relax with family and friends.”

Family tickets (two adults and two children) are £25, individual adult tickets are £10, under 16s £5 and under-threes free. Visit donkeysinthepark.eventbrite.co.uk for tickets.
