James Chubb, education ranger with East Devon District Council at The Knowle, Sidmouth, chose a tasty introduction to the delights of the edible seashore; subject to the vagaries of MSC Napoli and the heavy seasonal rainfall, for his contribution Rock Pool Feast.

Matt Boydell and Richard White from Devon Wildlife Trust separately put the wildlife to be found in the farming and the marine environments into the wider context, and both showed the interested audiences how important our local wildlife is in relation to the UK as a whole.

Still to come are lectures on Exe Estuary Coastal Management on Thursday, August 21, and Dormice and Otters, separating fact from fiction in conserving rare British mammals, on Thursday, August 28.

Both have spaces available, as does the guided garden walk on Sunday, September 7, on The Veitch Plant Hunters and their Plants.
