Support for 1st Rifles in Sidmouth
RESIDENTS in the Sid Valley are being asked to join with the Focal Point members of the Devonshire and Dorset Regiment to show their support for the Rifles currently deployed in Afghanistan with 3rd Commando Brigade.
RESIDENTS in the Sid Valley are being asked to join with the Focal Point members of the Devonshire and Dorset Regiment to show their support for the Rifles currently deployed in Afghanistan with 3rd Commando Brigade.
With the approval of the committee of Sidmouth War Memorial Club, there will be a buffet during the evening there, on Thursday (October 23) from 8pm, at a cost of £2.50 a head.
A prize draw will raise funds to give to the 1st Rifles Christmas fund.
Dave O'Connor, Sidmouth Royal British Legion standard bearer, said: "We would like to see a gathering of veterans attending. I know they are there. In the last 18 months we have presented and delivered over 260 lapel badges and certificates."
