LEFT inquorate after two councillors declared an interest and left the room, Sidmouth Town Council's planning chairman, Councillor Ian McKenzie-Edwards, had to make a chairman's decision over plans for a two-storey extension to Ridgeway residential care home, Salcombe Hill Road, Sidmouth, on Wednesday.
Ridgeway Residential Home Partnership needs the extension to install a lift and although the committee disliked the flat roof design, accepted it was necessary to accommodate the lift.
Mr McKenzie-Edwards supported the plans after hearing comments from Councillors Tony Reed and John Dyson.
