Tesco Express closed its doors this month and there have been concerns over its future - but the store will reopen next month.
The Sidmouth High Street store shut for refurbishments on Sunday, November 4.
With the news in September that Tesco was unveiling a new line of discount chain stores called ‘Jack’s’, some speculated that the Tesco in Sidmouth would reopen as one of the new stores.
The Herald contacted Tesco to confirm its intentions for the future and spokesperson said: “Our Sidmouth High Street Express will re-open next month once we have completed scheduled refurbishment works.
“We look forward to welcoming our customers to the store once again and apologise for any inconvenience caused as a result of the temporary closure.
