Locally based theatre group the New Ottregians have been wowing audiences this week with their latest production – Kiss Me, Kate.

The show tells the tale of an American theatre touring company who are performing a musical version of Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew.

One of the cast members runs up a gambling debt of $10,000, and signs it in the name of the show’s director – bringing him to the attention of two local debt collectors...

“Of course everything comes out alright in the end,” said Toni from the New Ottregians. “The audiences are certainly enjoying it and the feedback we’ve had has been excellent.”

Tickets are still available for the performances tomorrow (Friday) and Saturday. These start at 7.30pm at The King’s School, with proceeds going to Hospiscare.

Tickets, priced £8 for adults and £4.50 for children, are available in advance from Stagestruck in Broad Street or Bagpuss gallery in Mill Street, or on the door.
