JUST months after reports of a missing three-legged Siamese from the Sidmouth area, another has been spotted in Sidford.

While the first was found at a neighbour's home, this bedraggled feline was seen hobbling across the road just before Christmas by cat lover Julie Stedham as she drove along Brook Lane, Sidford.

Mrs Stedham, who lives at Burnt Oak, Sidbury, said: "Its coat was very matted and it looked fairly haggard, as if it was unlooked after.

"It was stopping in the middle of the road, pulling itself across. It looked so flea-bitten and looked as if it wouldn't last much longer.

"I didn't stop because we have young children and two cats, but it played on my mind a bit when I got home."

Mrs Stedham remembered reading a story in the Sidmouth Herald about someone who had lost their three-legged cat, but a helper at Sidmouth's Cats Protection shop said it had been found after a few days at a neighbour's property.

Elaine Mead, the charity's lost and found coordinator, said she had not received any reports of a missing three-legged Siamese and said if they were old they often looked unkempt.

If anyone discovers their Siamese is missing they are advised to contact Cats Protection on (01297) 21610.
